Journalism - ROMANIA
Our Internship Journalism project

Why Internship Journalism in Romania?

Forged from the Roman province of Dacia, Romania's unique Latin culture stands alone in the heart of Eastern Europe. Its painted monasteries, forested mountains and lush seaside resorts in the south have created a new tourist industry in the post-communist era.

Volunteering in Romania

Our journalism placements in Romania are in the city of Brasov. Volunteers have the exceptional opportunity to work on a monthly magazine as a trainee journalist, where they learn how a publication is put together from start to finish. They learn how to write articles in challenging circumstances and they end up with an impressive portfolio. Some volunteers are placed behind the scenes at local radio and TV stations for a few days to gain an insight into broadcast media.

Why Volunteer in a Journalism Placement?

Experience and cross-cultural exchange! Whether you are interested in pursuing an academic career in journalism, improving your job prospects in the field of journalism, or it is simply something that interests you, our placements are definitely worth considering. We offer the invaluable opportunity to gain experience of journalism in action, while simultaneously learning about a different part of the world, it's culture and it's people. You can take on the role of an intern and be actively involved in the researching, chasing and delivering of news stories. This means that while making your CV vastly more impressive, this placement allows you to experience another country in detail. Through being involved with the media, you will learn about the social, political and economic aspects of the country, whilst also being able to explore it geographically. You will learn about the technical side of journalism, and if you are in a country whose language you already speak, it is a fantastic way to improve those language skills.
